In short

This site sets no cookies and uses no tracking or analytics tools. Fonts, images and videos are served from this site’s own server, so visiting it sends no data to Google or social networks. I only receive personal data when you write to me through the form or by email.

Which language you see on your first visit is decided by your browser, based on the language setting it already has. This happens only on your device, nothing is stored or transmitted. If you switch the language yourself at the top, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage. It stays on your device, is not transmitted to me or anyone else, and only serves to show the site in the language you picked (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can switch back at any time or delete it in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, requested file, browser and operating system in order to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in a secure and fast website. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, transfers to the USA rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision.

Requests through the form

When you send the form on the Get started page, I process these details: first name, last name, phone number, email address, social media handle and your message, plus the language of the page and the time of your request. A small program at Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers, see Hosting) turns them into an email and sends it via Cloudflare Email Routing to my inbox at Google (Gmail). There is no database behind it, nothing stays on the server once the email is sent.

To keep spam out, the form checks whether a field that is invisible to people was left empty and whether a few seconds passed between opening the page and sending. Both are only evaluated at the moment you send and are not stored.

I only use your details to answer your request and to prepare a possible collaboration. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, for general requests Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in answering requests. I delete the data once it is no longer needed for this and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Contact by email

When you write to me, I process your details to answer your request. Emails to odin@odinbayer.de are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to my inbox at Google (Gmail). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for requests about a project, otherwise (f). I delete the data once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Links to other sites

The projects and links lead to Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.) and a client’s website (backyardman.de). None of them are embedded. A connection to these services is only made when you tap a link. From then on, the provider’s own privacy policy applies.

A short email to the address above is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent one is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
